The Desa Cantik (Desa Cinta Statistik) Team of the BPS Statistics of Manggarai Regency held a socialization in Tengku Lese Village, Rahong Utara District, regarding Desa Cinta Statistik on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The event also invited the Regent, who was represented by the Head of the PMD Service on this occasion. In addition, the Head of the Rahong Utara District and the Communication Information Service (Kominfo) were also present at this event. This socialization was opened with remarks from the Head of Tengku Lese Village, the Head of BPS Statistics of Manggarai Regency, and the Head of the PMD Service.
Yosef Danu, the Head of BPS, emphasized the importance of exploring the potential of villages as the spearhead of progress in a region. Therefore, data here plays a very important role in maximizing village's potential. In addition, Yosef Jehalut as the head of the PMD service, he also added in his speech, "in collecting data, villages must coordinate with BPS as the data producer in Indonesia so that the data produced is in line with BPS data, so that the ideal of one data can be realized".
The event continued with socialization which on this occasion was delivered by the head of the Desa Cantik Team, namely Siprianus Meot. He said that to achieve the goals of this Desa Cantik, active participation from Statistics Agents is needed. Statistics Agents are the main actors who will later share knowledge and apply it and maintain the sustainability of statistical activities in the village environment.
