Based on the 2023–2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Roadmap, seven statistical indicators have been analyzed to illustrate the direction of sustainable development in Manggarai Regency. These indicators are tabulated from the results of the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas), one of the main sources of national socioeconomic data.
Descriptively, the development of the SDG indicators shows a positive trend toward achieving the established targets. According to Table 1, five indicators improved in the most recent year (classified as “better”), while two indicators showed a decline compared to the previous year. This achievement indicates that Manggarai Regency is on the right track toward meeting the 2030 SDG targets. However, these efforts will still require well-targeted interventions by the local government.
To strengthen SDG achievement, several recommendations should be considered by the local government. First, the data governance of SDG indicators in Manggarai Regency must meet the criteria of good data, namely, it should be easily accessible and understandable by all stakeholders. Additionally, the utilization and optimization of existing media are essential, such as developing interactive dashboards or adequate digital publications, which can be carried out by the agency responsible for information technology infrastructure.
Lastly, agencies responsible for population and health affairs play a crucial role in raising public awareness of the importance of SDGs. This education should also reach practitioners, academics, and the general public.
With less than six years remaining until 2030, cross-sector collaboration in Manggarai Regency is key to ensuring that all SDG targets are achieved inclusively and sustainably. (Muhamad Andriansyah/Statistisi Ahli Pertama)
