Following a previous working visit to the Deputy Regent of Manggarai in March, the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Manggarai Regency, together with seven team coordinators, continued with a working visit to the newly inaugurated Regent of Manggarai, Herybertus Geradus Laju Nabit, on April 8, 2025.
During the meeting, the Head of BPS Manggarai Regency presented the main roles and responsibilities of BPS in the region, as well as introduced a number of strategic programs that are currently being implemented or planned. One of the key programs discussed was the 2026 Economic Census, for which preparation has already begun this year. In addition, the ongoing implementation of DTSEN (National Unified Socioeconomic Data) was highlighted as a collaborative effort between BPS and the Department of Social Affairs.
The Head of BPS also presented several key statistical indicators regularly published by BPS Manggarai Regency, such as poverty rate, unemployment rate, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and the Human Development Index (HDI). Plans were also shared regarding the implementation of the Sectoral Statistics Development Index and Sectoral Statistics Guidance, aimed at improving the quality of sectoral data produced by the local government and other related institutions in Manggarai Regency.
The visit was warmly received by Regent Herybertus Nabit. He expressed his appreciation for BPS's active role in supporting data-driven development and emphasized the importance of ensuring that data produced, whether by BPS or by government institutions in Manggarai Regency, is of high quality and can be optimally utilized to improve the welfare of the community.
