Budget Efficiency of the Statistics Indonesia

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) attended an invitation for a Public Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). Besides BPS, BRIN and the National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas) were also present. The meeting agenda discussed the efficiency of spending by ministries/agencies in the implementation of the 2025 State Budget (APBN) for the fiscal year. Budget efficiency is a strategic step by the government in managing national or regional finances to ensure that every expenditure provides optimal value. The budget efficiency policy implemented by the government in 2025 is outlined in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2025 concerning Efficiency in Spending in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

The budget efficiency policy implemented by President Prabowo Subianto directly impacts the working patterns or business processes, as well as the supporting facilities in various ministries and agencies, including the Central Statistics Agency of Manggarai District. As part of the budget efficiency implementation, several routine censuses/surveys conducted by the Central Statistics Agency of Manggarai District are at risk of not being carried out, including the 2026 Economic Census, the 2025 Intercensal Population Survey (SUPAS), and the September 2025 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), along with several other smaller surveys. However, despite the budget cuts, the salaries and performance allowances of employees and operational costs for the provision of statistical data, have not been affected so far. The programs for providing and delivery statistical information conducted by BPS are ensured to continue following the available budget in the Operational Activity Guidelines or the work paper details that have been prepared.
